Hello.  I'm just got an Inspire HR.  How can I check how many steps I've taken thus far in the current hour?  Thank you.

I am not seeing the hourly steps when I swipe up.

I see the hours I've moved 250 steps, but cannot toggle to how many hours I've reached this hour.

How do I get to the screen showing how many steps I've moved this hour?

A warm welcome to the Community @StephBarnard. I'm glad to hear that you just got an Inspire HR.

You can check your stats if you swipe up from the clock face on your tracker and navigate through the core stats such as steps and calories burned after this you should see hourly steps which are the steps taken this hour and the number of hours you met your hourly activity goal.

If you would like to continue learning about your Inspire HR, you can check the Inspire HR Product Manual

I'll be around if you need further assistance. Hope you continue enjoying your new Inspire HR. 😀

Hi Silvia

I want to make sure I understand how the hourly steps work on my Inspire HR.  I notice I  see the icon with the dots indicating the number of hours I've hit the 250 steps per hour all the time.

I've also noticed that when I press my fitbit screen when I am on the above icon, it only toggles to the number of steps I've taken in the hour IF I HAVE NOT reached the 250 steps.  Once I reach 250 steps in any hour I've indicated I want to track, I can no longer toggle to the steps per hour and only see the icon with the dots indicating how many hours I've hit the goal.

Is that how the device is intended to work?  I want to make sure my device is working properly.

Thanks in advance.

Thanks for getting back @SunsetRunner. I appreciate the extra details mentioned. Sorry for the delayed reply.

Inspire HR helps you stay active throughout the day by keeping track of when you're stationary and reminding you to move.

Reminders nudge you to walk at least 250 steps each hour. You'll feel a vibration and see a reminder on your screen at 10 minutes before the hour if you haven't walked 250 steps. When you meet 250 step goal after receiving the reminder, you'll feel a second vibration and see a congratulatory message.

Let me know how it goes.

Hi, I am having the same problem  with my Inspire HR as  @SunsetRunner

The count of steps walked this hour doesn't ALWAYS show up for me either, it only shows sporadically. I think it stops showing up after 10 minutes past the hour. For example, between 8 and 8:10pm I see both screens - count of steps taken this hour, and number of hours target steps were taken. But after 8:10pm, I only see the screen with number of hours target steps were taken, where as the count of steps taken this hour vanishes. I would love to have a clock face where I could see count of steps taken this hour with the main clock, so I don't have to swipe up and get to the screen where I see the count (which is ofcourse not always available anyway as mentioned earlier). Any idea if there is a clock face that supports count of steps taken this hour?

Actually, I did more investigation into this problem. This is what the Inspire HR Manual says "

Hourly step - Steps taken this hour and the number of hours you met your hourly activity goal (tap to switch between these stats)

I tapped multiple times but it doesn't swap between the two stats, it stays stuck on whichever one it is showing at the time (at the top of the hour it shows "Steps taken this hour", 10 minutes past the hour it shows "hours you met activity goal").

How come its not responding to the tap to switch states as told in the manual?

Although I can't answer your question, I will share what I have learned. I received my device two weeks ago as a gift. In this brief time, I have learned that Fitbit customer service is not competent and the manual is not always correct. It is frustrating for sure that they are not educating their employees to be able to provide their customers with knowledgeable service. It is also unfortunate that they are not correcting/updating their manuals to each device. I wonder if they basically do a copy and paste when they come out with a new product and many of the directions don't apply to the new device. I know I read in the manual for my Inspire Hr that you turn off the alarm by pushing the button. It neglected to say you have to push the button twice.  I was on Live Chat trying to find out if the "Reminder to Move" notification was supposed to be as intense as the alarm. I was told they should be the same. However, doing research online it seems that the movement reminder is a very slight vibration that lasts a nano second. Many, many users confirm that the vibration is barely noticeable. The alarm vibration is strong and you notice it. I have disappointed in the device, but more disappointed that you can't get accurate and knowledgeable information from those that work for the company. I don't blame them. I blame the company for not training them properly.  They should have manuals to look at that give them accurate information for each device. In the short time I have owned my Fitbit I have been scouring the blogs and that is the conclusion I have come to.

Hello! Can we see the countdown to the 250 on our app, too?  I can’t find it.

@melisahaslett Welcome to the Fitbit Community. I'll be happy to clarify your inquiry.

It's possible to check your hourly tile in your Fitbit app and tracker. The reason why you're not seeing this on your app could be because, the tile is hidden. Please do the following to add it to your main app:

  1. On the Today tab, tap Edit.
  2. To add a stat tile, swipe down and find the stat you want to add > tap Add. To hide a stat tile, tap the X icon on the stat you want to remove.
  3. Tap Done.

I'll be around if you have any additional questions.

@melisahaslett Thanks for getting back.  The reminders to move will show only in the tracker/watch and in the Fitbit app, you'll check how many hours you achieved your goal. Learn more about it by checking this article

My Inspire HR was defective, so I don't have it anymore. I do know I could see how many steps of the 250 steps I had taken so far each hour. I would have to subract from 250 to know how many I had left. It never showed how many were left.
