How to receive notifications from my email program

Replies are disabled for this topic. Start a new one or visit our Help Center.

My android phone is gmail focused, but I use a different email program and address for my electronic communication.  I would like to have notifications on my Inspire HR.  The app suggests I should be able to chose my email program, but only Gmail is offered as a choice.  How can I fix this?

Hi @FisherPete nice to see your face around, welcome to the Forums! I hope you like what you find here! Robot Happy

I'll glad to give you a hand with this. I'd like to know what email program are you using for your electronic communication.

  • Please check on the settings on your android phone the option "Notifications & status bar" > "Notifications management" > chose email program > allow notifications.
  • Then go back to your Fitbit app and tap account > Fitbit Inspire HR > Notifications > Emails > select your primary email.

If this is not listed there, it might be on the App notifications.

Let me know if this helped you.

Hello,

I was told by Fitbit support that Gmail is the only email program that can send notifications to the device, you can't have more than one, is this true?  Similar to @FisherPete I am using a Samsung Galaxy S9 with the native email program. Even though that program shows up in the App Notifications list in the Fitbit app, and you can check the box to allow notifications, it still will not work.  The frustrating thing is that it did work fine up until a few days ago, but apparently the latest Fitbit app update has taken away this capability.  Can you please verify this is correct?  If so, it's a major problem.

Thanks in advance for your help!

My notifications are on and have been on since I configured my Moto Z3 Android phone.  When i go to the Fitbit location you indicated, only Gmail is listed as an option.  I think TrainerDebby is correct that the coding is at fault.  Texts and reminders come through just fine.

I don't want to switch to a new email client after 25 years with the same one.
