Inaccurate distance tracking/steps

Fitbit Inspire HR displaying on app and watch that I've only done 2.1 miles (11,670) steps when I walked 8.10 miles on the treadmill at the gym. I used to have the Fitbit Alta and it always tracked distance and steps accurately. Not sure what I need to do to fix this? Any help would be great!
