Inaccurate distance

I ran a mile on a track today, but my inspire hr only counted about .70 miles. I didn’t have my phone with me, so I wasn’t using the GPS. It tends to track much less than I actually run, so my mile times are a few minutes longer than they should be. Is there any way to fix this?

When not using phone's GPS, distance is calculated as number of steps times stride length.  Assuming number of steps is close, your stride length probably needs adjusting.  It is set with a default based on you physical characteristics, but is bound to be off some.

See Can I change my stride length in my Fitbit account?  and following article for information on how to measure and adjust your stride length.

Instead of measuring, if you are confident of the 1 mile and .70 miles, you can just multiply your running stride length times (1/.7) or 1.43 to get close, and then further adjust later as necessary.
