@Ozzie65 Hi there. Thank you for the troubleshooting performed prior to posting.

It sounds like the On Clip mode is activated as it's the option you're getting. This could explain why you're not getting sleep or heart rate. To switch between On Wrist and On Clip mode, tap the setting the tap the checkmark to confirm it.

Full instructions can be found on the Product Manual here.

Hope this helps.

Mine is the same. Have you worked out how to fix it please?

Best Answer

No, I think I’m going to return it and try my luck with a new one. Extremely disappointed

Hello,

My heart rate monitor worked yesterday now after 1 nights sleep its not working. Apparently stopped working before i went to sleep based on the sleep data. I registers a resting heart rate of 60 otherwise nothing. I have tried moving the device further up my arm as it suggested NOTHING. I have tried wearing it tighter as suggested NOTHING. I have tried wearing it so tight my hand started going numb and it still couldnt detect anything.

On top top of that i look to try and find out how to get in touch with customer support and i get forums you dont appear to answer. The choice to sign up to twitter just to send you a message or call you in very limiting hours.

Does anyone know if there is another way to contact this company? What kind of customer service operation these days does not have a direct message link on there apps and only operates in the same working hours everyone else does. At least open later (9pm) or work wed-sun to allow people the chance to actually call your helpline.

This is the first fitbit i have purchased. They have been going to a long time now and figured the newest technology should be quite sound and foolproof by now. Starting to regret giving money to this company now.

Hi, @Starwind28 , have you checked to see whether the HR function got turned off accidentally?  Do the green lights flash if you pick up and move the Fitbit?

On your Inspire 2 swipe down until you come to the settings menu.  Tap on settings and swipe until you see heartrate.  Check that it is set to ON.  If it is ON and the HR isn’t working, try turning it OFF, waiting a moment and then turning it back ON again.

If you need to get in touch with Customer Support use one of the routes here

Hi, @MikiR and @Panda77 have you checked to make sure that the heartrate function is switched on?  On the Inspire 2 swipe down until you come to the settings menu, then swipe until you see Heartrate.  Tap to switch on or off.

If it is set to ON but it still doesn’t work, try switching OFF, waiting a moment and then switching back on again.

You could also try giving your Fitbit a restart:

1. Plug the charging cable into the USB port on your computer or any UL-certified USB wall charger. 2. Connect your device to the charging cable. 3. Press and hold the button or buttons on your tracker for 5 seconds. 4. Release the button. When you see a smile icon and the tracker vibrates, the tracker restarted.

Hello Julia,

There is no green light flashing. And when I go to settings the only heart rate option is for heart zone notifications on and off.

The link you put on is blocked for some reason by android. Can you add a web address? What is the link for?

Hi, @Starwind28 , here’s the link: https://myhelp.fitbit.com/s/support?language=en_US

On the settings menu on your Inspire 2 you should see:

Dim screen (options are on or off)

Phone GPS (on / off)

Heart Rate (on / off)

Do not disturb (with sub menu)

Sleep mode (with sub menu)

Heart zones notifications (on off)

Double tap (on / off)

Clear user data

Reboot device

Device info

If you continue to have an issue you should also go to the settings menu and choose Reboot device to see if that solves your ossue.

Mine goes

Dim screen

Phone GPS

Do not disturb

Etc...

So completely missing the heart rate on/off on the settings screen.

I have rebooted twice now already. Once before writting this and then again when you said to try but nothing has changed.

Where is the on-clip vs on-wrist setting located? Is it in the tracker or on the app?

Mine doesn’t have Heart Rate after Phone GPS either.

I saw in another thread that I should check the “on wrist” setting and make sure it’s not set to “on clip” but I can’t find where that setting is located. Help!

Where do you find the settings "on clip" and "on wrist"? In the app? On the device?

Yeah...found it. Thanks!

I’m having the same issue and your article does not help. Where it says to turn on heart rate in settings, the only option for Heart is Heart Zone Notifications. I got this thing yesterday.

Best Answer

Got mine today has not read my heart rate since I put it on this afternoon I’ve tried all the suggestions and they don’t work with this model - also no option to turn heart rate on in settings. My old fit bit had no issues reading my heart rate

Thank you this has fixed it.

Had the same problem just found another thread go to the quick menu and make sure it’s set to on wrist and it clip on (don’t know why that is an option) this is now working for me

Press on the outsides and make sure the ‘on-wrist’ setting is selected. I changed it from ‘on-clip’ and the bpm is now working.

See my post below about it being ‘on-wrist’.
