Inspire 2 sync connection timed out.

My inspire 2 keeps timing out at the 4 digit code entry screen with the pop up screen reading “connection with the device timed out. If this error persists, try restarting Bluetooth on your phone or rebooting the device.” To which I have multiple times with no success.

Hey AirinTyler,

Had the same issue with my own and my parents.

3x other family members have Aces and an Aspire.

With all that bluetooth chatter I found it easier to just head out back into the garage away from it all and tried there.

It did work for me to get my own activated but it did take a few tries there.

I think there is just too much inteference to get that initial hand shake in.
Once completed it's been pretty solid though.

 

If that doesn't do it I know my parents had the same deal and I reset their devices prior to the PIN code being generated by doing the following:

 Ace 2, Ace 3, Inspire, and Inspire HR

  1. Plug the charging cable into the USB port on your computer or any UL-certified USB wall charger.
  2. Connect your device to the charging cable.
  3. Press and hold the button or buttons on your tracker for 5 seconds.
  4. Release the button. When you see a smile icon and the tracker vibrates, the tracker restarted.

Hi, @AirinTyler, welcome to the community. @SunsetRunner 's advice is sound, in particular, if you have any older Bluetooth devices nearby they are best turned off until you have paired your "Inspire 2" to your phone. May I also suggest you review the Fitbit app settings on your phone (You do not mention the make or model so I apologise for being vague) Ensure all permissions are allowed, Clear the storage & cache, Ensure Background data & unrestricted data usage are allowed in the mobile data & WiFi tab, Ensure battery usage is set at unrestricted If your "Inspire 2" appears in connected devices (saved devices) forget it before trying to pair again.

FYG pairing is a rather slow process and takes longer than we expect these days, unless you see specific messages saying a process has failed assume it is still progressing. Updates in particular take quite a long time.
