Inspire 2 water lock ongoing problems

Replies are disabled for this topic. Start a new one or visit our Help Center.

The fact that YojanaFitbit closed the thread about the constant problems with Water Lock activating inappropriately without providing a workable solution says everything we Inspire users (aka sufferers) have been dealing with for months.  Furthermore, the comment to "please try to turn your wrist toward your body since water lock doesn’t always unlock if the device isn’t in this orientation" is utterly inane since one's wrist is turned toward your body in order to manually unlock it.  It also doesn't address why Water Lock turns on when the Inspire is in the clip (which is how I primarily use it).  The fact is, the software team can't or won't try to come up with an option for users who do not swim or shower with the Inspire to disable Water Lock; that is all that we hundreds of commenters have asked for.  And the recommendation to contact support is just totally frustrating.  I have called support more than once.  The first time, the person said my initial Inspire was apparently defective and sent me a new one.  After I called because of the same problem with the new one, I got all the canned responses that don't work... and an offer of a Fitbit watch, which I declined because I prefer the clip.  So unless you want to get another Inspire or a different Fitbit product that won't work any better than the one you have, I strongly suggest not wasting your breath calling support.

Hi @ADKzip  I've not had a problem with water lock and my Luxe, but I wanted to post a link to the thread that was closed. A family member has the Inspire 2 and uses a clip. I'll have to ask them if they've had any problems. Sorry this is happening and hope that it can be resolved for you.

I also use the clip, except when sleeping and water lock turns on every time I switch from the wristband to the clip and vice versa; most times, it's easy to switch off after making the transfer but sometimes it just goes nuts and blocks me from enabling the wrist or clip until I plug it in to force a reset.  And on a couple of occasions, it blocked the reset until I plugged and unplugged it several times!

I don't wear mine as a clip...but I am interested in how to NOT have the  Water Lock Screen light numerous times each day (and night).

I have the same issue with water lock constantly turning on multiple times a day. I wear it on my wrist and I am double tapping it many times a day to unlock "water lock". It's to the point I find this new Fitbit to be useless. I tried support and got no resolution.

I have the same problem and I have only had my inspire 2 for 1 week. I have daily trouble with the water lock several times a day.

Yes, I got mine for Christmas and I'm so disappointed, as it's beyond the
return window. My waterlock turns on very randomly. I was just filing in
my office and it turned on. This is definitely a design flaw. I'm not
sure why they can't provide a software update to fix it.

Maybe stop flexing your wrist at all. Or don’t wear your Fitbit. These are the only 2 solutions I have found that work. (I hate the water lock feature!!)
