Inspire HR: Step accuracy

Hello,

I am using my Inspire HR only a few days, but find that the step count is way off. Only today I put the Inspire to charge and already the count show 1.662 steps. (1.32KM) We do not have a small house, but to walk that many steps will not happen. This was my confirmation of suspecting the same during the past few days. Since I used the Inspire, it gives me consistent way more steps, and distance, than I actually did. Is there any way to fix this?

Thanks.

Daughters bought an Inspire for my birthday.  Reasons not to buy one -

1 - strap is poor, to check it impossible as you need to see between strap and wrist

2 - if not checked it falls off and is lost

3 - any clock face is impossible to see on a bright day

4 - no 24 hour clock setting available and analogue face needs a magnifying glass

5 - twisting of wrist to turn on display only works with some faces

6 - need to beat the hell out of face to turn on - see cracked faces ad nauseum on net

7 - no settings option to turn 5 on/off only advance settings which doesn’t

8 - assuming HR means heart rate there is no sign off it
9 - online user groups show countless others with similar problems on most models

10 - I hate lying to family pretending I’m enjoying their crap present

I/they were conned ... and I detest being subject to Fitbit’s marketing!

Is there no way to calculate your own step count with the Inspire. My husband and I are walking together and mine is showing several more miles than his iPhone.

Thanks for the reply, I’ve discovered that as well.  Did 3,500 ish steps before lunch today and didn’t even step outside!

I’ve been noticing the same problem that many of these commentaries are discussing. I received a free inspire with a Health app and all of a sudden my steps on the way up! I don’t think Fitbit inspire is a good product at all.

I have a cheap tracker from Amazon that does a lot better job than this new Inspire 2 Fitbit.  Can it do anything right?

Why can't they do a software upgrade and fix it!? Everyone is saying the numbers are overstated by at least 100%. I'd just cut my numbers in half and be done with it, but it syncs with my MyFitnessPal!

It’s been that way for over two years so
either they don’t know how to fix it or they don’t care. They just continue to sell it to unsuspecting buyers.

I just saw purchased the Inspire 2 and wearing it for the first time today and my steps are unbelievable... making dinner I logged about 2000 steps and just watching tv for the last 2 hours I logged another 1000 steps. I’ve checked all the settings and nothing wrong, it’s just not working at all. I’ll likely return this tomorrow if I can’t find any solutions.

Sorry you are having that problems. Sorry to see they still haven't fixed this problem that has existed

for over 2 years. Definitely return it before it's too late!!!

this was how much I walked in 15 minutes today,  while sleeping!!! Really? Contacted customer service...I feel it's a glitch... they weren't sure... I'm not an Olympic runner! Who can walk that far in 15 minutes?

This is a long time known issue with the HR models - their step counter is horribly inaccurate and has been for years!!! Of course they have no clue how to fix it despite thousands of us logging complaints. Many of us have ditched Fitbit for other models. I have been using the Garmin Vivosmart4 for several years - very accurate. I recommend you return it as soon as possible and get your money back !!!
