I charged my fit bit today and used my phone to add my steps. It says I walked about 2100 steps. I don't know how to add the steps to my steps. Please explain how to do this. I tried asking google but it wouldn't explain how to add the steps. It's probably too late but I always walk some wen charging and want to be able to do it in the future.

See How do I add, edit, or delete Fitbit data and activities? and scroll down to topic "How do I manually log exercises in the Fitbit app?"

Thank you JohnnyRow 😊. I do know how to add exercises, but I walked about mile, or around 2,000 steps while I was charging my fit bit and wanted to add those STEPS to my step count. I did add gardening, which is what I was doing around my yard , it incurred walking to my 3 small flower gardens on opposite sides of my house. I had my Samsung Phone with me and it logged those steps. But I can't seem to add those number of steps to my step count. Is this not possible to do? Everyone charges their fit bit, do we lose all our activity when doing it? Thank You.

First, as for "Everyone charges their fit bit, do we lose all our activity when doing it?" Yes, everyone charges their Fitbit. But it does not need to be a major action, losing steps. Some people charge their trackers while showering. Charging just 10-15 minutes a day is generally enough, or close to it, to keep your tracker at about the same charge. For myself, when I am about to sit at my computer for even 15 minute, I take a look at my tracker, and if it's running low, put it on charger for 10-15 minutes.
There's no reason to think you are supposed to wait until it is gets low, then charge it to 100%. In fact, some say keeping battery mid-range is best for battery life.
Second, you cannot just edit your step count, but have to add an activity. You can often adjust the added activity to about the desired number of steps. For instance, for activity "Walk", it asks for distance. You said you walked about a mile. You could try that, then adjust the distance slightly if needed to fit your step count.

Thank you! I always wait until I get the message that my fit bit is low, I always thought that frequent charging would cause the battery to learn to deplete faster, like a cell phone. I did just that, I added walking a mile. At a slow pace. I feel it added fewer calories than I thought it should, but the Samsung Health also gave me 1000 more steps two days ago when I walked for an hour and a half, and but their calories burned was less than the fit bit. (?) So, I may just take your advice and put it on the charger while I am drinking my morning coffee and reading my inbox and face book. Or charge while in the shower like you suggested. Thank you very much. 😊

Don't know where you got that info for cell phone, but everything I have seen says for modern electronics lithium ion batteries, such as cell phone and Fitbit, it is best to keep charged between 20-80%, including this first article I happened to find about charging cell phones.

Thank you again, this is information I did not know. I do have a regular habit of draining it daily and charging it all night while I have my Spotify on with white noise. Maybe I will try to think about removing it from the charger sometime in the middle of the night. Thank you so much for your help !
