I bought an Inspire HR less than a year ago. These past two weeks, the battery depletes quickly (within 2/3 days) and the auto-recognize feature is no longer working as well as when I got it. The battery used to last for at least 5 days. I asked customer service to send me a replacement, since it is under warranty. Despite the fact that I had already re-set the fitbit and re-charged it in order to show them how quickly the batter depletes, they demanded that I conduct a week-long battery test. They told me in order to get a replacement I have to DISABLE several features, charge it completely, and let it deplete. This is unacceptable. I have clearly shown the battery is not working as advertised, and the fact that they want me to take a week of my time using a fit bit with fewer features than I paid for is not fair to me as a consumer. They want to do trouble shooting, great, I will send it back and you can do that. I am entitled to a replacement, and the level of poor customer service is inexcusable. Switching to an apple watch now.

@mahan.garrett Thanks for stopping by! Sorry for the delay in reply.
Let me help you with your Inspire HR battery draining quickly and not detecting your exercises. You can try these suggestions to help your battery last longer. Still you can reach out to our Support team to let them know that the issue persists.
Regarding the activity detection, which activities have you been doing and for how long? Your device detects activities based on the motion on your arm. The automatic detection is a feature called SmartTrack. For example when using the elliptical machine make sure you have the moving bars so your device detects the motion and records the activity itself, once an Elliptical activity is saved on your account it should show on the Recent Exercise area. If your heart rate is high but there isn't much motion (yoga, weight lifting, etc.) then these activities will be difficult to be detected by your device. Still you can manually log your activity so you have a record on your account or use the activity mode on the device itself.
Let me know how it goes.
