My Fitbit measures 0.80 per kilometer. I have tried restarting. What to do?

Can't tell anything about distance without knowing if you are connecting to phone's GPS.
But, if not, increase strike length by 25 %.

Thanks. The Fitbit device syncs with the Fitbit app on my phone. Will it not then be connected to the phone's GPS as well?

It doesn't automatically connect to phone's GPS. You have the choice. You have to go into Settings and say to use phone GPS.
For details see Inspire HR manual (pdf) section on 'Fitness & Exercise' starting on page 32 on manual.

I double checked that GPS and Bluetooth were enabled on my phone and that my Fitbit was allowed to use the phone's GPS, and took my phone with me on a run, as I always do. It is still not accurate. I have checked both with friends' devices and also marked paths, and the results are clear; for every kilometer my device measures approximately 0.8. I might just take it back to the shop. It is one and a half year old.
