My Fitbit Inspire HR is a year old. It's operated fine in this time, but has recently become difficult to charge. I've tried changing the port I'm plugging the USB charger into with some success, but it no longer displays anything while charging. And sometimes I will check on it after it's been on the charger for a while, and it's made no progress. Also, I always wear the Fitbit to track my sleep. Recently it's begun not recording all my sleep, and says I went to sleep much (like hours) later than I actually did. This is frustrating.
I admit I've never tried to turn this device off. In researching that, it seems "turning it off" is referred to as "resetting" it ... is that right? In following the instructions of "plug into charger, hold button for 5 seconds, it responds with happy face" ... this never happens. I actually have not seen the happy face in quite sometime.
What am I doing wrong?

Welcome to the Fitbit Community, @tessmick.
Thanks for the details shared in your post and for already trying to resolve the issue. I understand how you are feeling and recommend following our tips including a restart in Why isn't my Fitbit device's battery charging?
Regarding the issue with sleep, I recommend doing the following:
It is possible to correct the sleep record from your dashboard by following the steps from this help article: How do I edit, or delete sleep logs in the Fitbit app?
For more information about tracking sleep, see How do I track my sleep with my Fitbit device?
Hope this helps.
