Besides battery charging problems, my Inspire HR is so depleted that it won’t charge any more. Cleaned the contacts, left it plugged in for hours, got no smiley face or % charge when I pushed the little side button. It never (the past weeks) told me it was low and needed a charge. Now, I just tried syncing and I find that it hasn’t synced since March 30!! And now it can’t sync because it is totally depleted! Tempted to return to Amazon since I feel I have more than one complaint. Never figured how to change modes to see incoming calls, or battery level.
I too liked the slimness of the Alta, but mine was fading out after 3 years.

Thank you for the advice. I went through all those procedures several times yesterday and nothing improved. I also read through a lot more complaints and realized that my FitBit was less responsive than those I was reading about. So I got on a Chat line with Vanessa at FitBit and within a few minutes, she confirmed that mine was a troublesome one and she sent me a label so I could ship it back to FitBit. It is in the mail now.
My FitBit would not cooperate. I left it charging for hours, got the smiley face when I pushed the side button MORE than 5 secs. and then it went blank. No time, no steps, no energy, no nothing. Also tried syncing my iPhone, iPad and FitBit and the FitBit wouldn’t sync. I wonder if it has to do with the Bluetooth. I have a portable oxygen concentrator that is tied into my iPhone by Bluetooth. If I have to choose between FitBit and oxygen, oxygen wins every time. I wonder if this is part of my problem...
