Inspire HR not syncing automatically

Replies are disabled for this topic. Start a new one or visit our Help Center.

My inspire HR worked perfectly when I got it a few months ago. But recently it's stopped syncing automatically and therefore has stopped my notifications coming through. My data is still tracking because when I manually sync it (it takes a few refreshes) but its all there. I have tried deleting the app and the watch from it and reinstalling, I've tried unpairing it from Bluetooth, made sure its all updated. I've tried everything I've found online but it will seem to sync up fine again for a few hours and then back to maybe once a day. But either way my notifications don't work anymore because it says I have to restart my phone and even after that it doesn't work

@Jodie691 It's nice to have you on board!

Let me help you with your Inspire HR not syncing properly with your phone. You can refreshing the link between your phone and your tracker by doing the following:

  1. Go to your phone's bluetooth settings and remove all devices listed there.
  2. Restart your phone and restart your device
  3. Check that no battery saving app/feature on your phone is affecting your Fitbit app.
  4. Also, on an Android device, check that your app has the necessary permissions (settings > apps > Fitbit > permissions) and make sure bluetooth and location services (GPS) are on.
  5. You can find troubleshooting instructions here.

Let me know how it goes.

I've only had my Inspire HR less than a week, and it has had almost constant problems syncing, along with assorted other problems such as not recording any sleep data.  After doing every trouble-shooting step recommended anywhere, I finally got it to sync by doing a delete data (factory reset) along with the other things.  Then the next day it had problems again.  It synced a little after 10 a.m. today and I can't get it to sync since on my iPhone, Fire tablet, or on the dashboard on fitbit.com website.  It also loses its iPhone connection the few times I can even get it to connect, so no notifications, gps, etc.

I like the features (when/if they work), and when it records my sleep, it's accurate.  But it's too frustrating dealing with these constant problems.  I don't want to send it back but I may if performance doesn't improve.

Fitbit tech:  Many people are having the same problems.  Can no one at Fitbit fix these things?  Fitbit has been making activity trackers for years.   ????

Hi there,

Thanks for the reply but as already stated I have tried all of this multiple times and I still have the problems. It might fix the problem for an hour but then it goes back to delayed syncing and no notifications. Honestly I've gave up trying now

Thanks

Ditto what Jodie said.  Apparently lots of us have tried these steps and others, over and over and over.  There must be a problem with the firmware or devices themselves.  There is no rhyme or reason to when these trackers connect or work and when they don't.  Not okay at all!

They're great IF/when they decide to work, but good luck getting them to function.

Btw, I also have a less expensive Wyze band that has NO problems connecting and staying connected, nor ANY problems syncing.  Very reliable.  It just doesn't have all the features of the Fitbit, and its sleep data aren't nearly as accurate.  Point being, if Wyze can make a brand new product that will reliably stay connected and can be synced at any and all times, there is no reason Fitbit can't, too.

THIS NEEDS WORK.

@AlvaroFitbit is it possible for anyone to comment about this please?

As you can see loads of people are having this same problem and I’m so close to getting rid of mine because it’s not working. Even when I sync it now it takes a while to even sync

Thanks

The day before yesterday I was able to get my Inspire HR to sync after several tries.  I did none of the zillion futile trouble-shooing steps except I turned Bluetooth off and on again on my devices. I then decided that Fitbits only sync when THEY decide to and the customer really has no control although they may attempt to force a sync.  Anyway, I could view my data that day, so I thought maybe that's the best to hope for, and just deal with it.

Yesterday it finally, after multiple attempts, synced a little after 10 a.m.  The night's sleep data showed only on my iPhone but not on my Fire tablet nor on Fitbit's website even after they synced, and still does not show today.  It appears that I died around 10:15 a.m. yesterday, according to Fitbit.

This morning it still will not sync on either of my devices nor on Fitbit's website.  I can't view any of yesterday's activity data past 10 a.m., nor any of last night's sleep data nor today's data so far.  I have turned Bluetooth off and on again on both of my devices.  I don't have time to go through deleting apps, factory reset, etc. etc. which are almost always futile anyway.

Two days ago I had decided to let Fitbit be boss and deal with it.  But today I still don't have any of yesterday's activity after mid-morning, no sleep data for the night before except on my phone, and no sleep data from last night nor this morning's activity on either device or the website.

Are all the Fitbit people dead?  These problems need to be addressed!

You have a good product IF IF IF it would work as intended.  There are multiple people having these same problems, and they have been for a long time.  You could fix this if you tried.  Other similar companies don't have syncing problems.

Still problems syncing.

It's  6 p.m. and my devices still haven't synced my Inspire HR since yesterday morning, and only some data synced then.  I noticed that on my tablet and on Fitbit's website dashboard, only my steps show for yesterday morning, not my daily activity or the hours that I had >250 steps nor my sleep data.  The sleep data for night-before-last shows on my phone app only, but the daily activity and hours of 250 steps still don't show there, either, although total steps done before 10 a.m. yesterday show.  ???  Nothing since.

Nothing for today, of course, despite repeated attempts to sync.

Totally unsatisfactory.  Fitbit, please fix these problems!

Same issue here!  So aggravating!  Can FitBit please look into this!

They know all about it they just don't care. Yesterday my HR worked today it didn't. Yesterday I had all day sync (steps changed while I was walking) and HR worked. Today steps did not change unless I manually synced and low and behold heart rate did not work. They know it's a problem; they know what the problem is but they are just refusing to give back the all-day sync on a permanent basis. How much you want to bet some head honcho's kid wrote the program and no one has the ganoones to say enough is enough!!!

Yes, the inconsistency is totally unsatisfactory, and most of the time the steps they suggest, along with other steps, don't work either (as if anyone has time to do them all twice a day).

My Inspire HR has not synced since a little after 1 a.m. this morning, on neither my phone nor my tablet, nor on the dashboard on Fitbit's website.  There is no way to even request a sync on the website, so it totally just does that whenever it suits Fitbit afaik.  The 1 a.m. sync wasn't accurate; it shows 55 steps but that I'd burned over 1,000 calories.  I have no sleep data from last night and no activity data from today.  It won't connect to my iPhone.  It says it is syncing on my Fire tablet, but it has said that for over five minutes now.  (Just checked again after finishing this reply, and it says it is connected on my Fire but it still did NOT sync.  Won't even connect on my iPhone.  Bah!!)

I had intended to have already returned this tracker to amazon, but other things have come up and I haven't done it yet.  That being the case, I was hoping I could sync tonight (it's about 10 p.m. as I'm trying to sync).  My tracker is almost fully charged.  The last time I was able to force it to sync was when I put it back on the charger, even though it had about a 50% charge left.

These problems just continue day after day.  I'm going to return this device for a refund, and then reorder to give it one more try.  I like the tracker a lot on the rare occasions that it both works and will sync.  But I go entire days, and sometimes well into the second one, before I manage to get it to sync on any device.

I put my $30 Wyze band away because its sleep data are not accurate, but I'll be using it when I return my Fitbit.  When I used the Wyze, it synced just fine.

I am at a loss as to why Fitbit is so unconcerned about fixing these problems.

@AlvaroFitbit hello? Can someone please reply to this thread and actually listen to what we're saying.

I've spoke to people on the live chats and on twitter and I've not got anywhere. After messing about with it I managed to get it to work for a few days but I'm back to square one and it's hardly syncing. I constantly have to restart or mess with the settings which is extremely unpractical and so many others are having the exact same problem!

Also have you fixed the notification problems yet? It seems to have been a good couple of months now according to the fitbit community and you've still not fixed it? Is anyone doing the jobs fixing anything or is everyone sticking to the same script and making us go round in circles?

Same here. I have to turn on/off the Bluetooth and force stop and restart the app multiple times. There is no rhyme or reason for when it decides to eventually decides to work. So frustrating.
