I am having several issues with my fitbit Inspire HR. It doesn't syncing with my phone automatically, I need manually uninstall and install again on Bluetooth. It doesn't track treadmill exercise automatically. if you take shower with, it shows you are swimming or exercise. I can be awake but in bed it shows I slept all night. Horrible. very disappointed. I regret buying it.  Bad product. Period.

@Angie_CA Welcome to the Fitbit Community! It's great to have you here! Sorry for the delay in my reply.

Let me help you with your Inspire HR not working correctly. For the syncing issues I would like to know which phone are you using? Is it compatibleYou can try the following:

  • Go to your phone's bluetooth settings and remove all devices listed there.
  • Restart your phone and restart your device
  • Check that no battery saving app/feature on your phone is affecting your Fitbit app.
  • Also, if you are using an Android device, check that your app has the necessary permissions (settings > apps > Fitbit > permissions) and make sure bluetooth and location services (GPS) are on.
  • You can find troubleshooting instructions here.

Regarding the treadmill recognition, are you holding the arm rests while doing this?Your device detects activities based on the motion on your arm. The automatic detection is a feature called SmartTrack. For example when using the elliptical machine make sure you have the moving bars so your device detects the motion and record the activity itself. This also applies when you shower. It will detect the motion at it thinks you are swimming but you can simply delete this log. If your heart rate is high but there isn't much motion (yoga, weight lifting, etc.) then these activities will be difficult to be detected by your device. Still you can manually log your activity so you have a record on your account or use the activity mode on the device itself.

Finally regarding sleep, your device will start recording sleep after it detects an hour of inactivity. If you have a light sleep or move too much then this may difficult your sleep detection. The opposite might be true also as inactivity from watching TV or a movie may lead to sleep detection. You can try wearing your device on your dominant hand to increase the amount of movement it is subjected to. Finally you can restart your device. You can also manually log your sleep time. You can read more about sleep detection here.

Let me know how it goes.

I have an IPhone 11 Pro. I never had any problems with Fitibit Alta HR, but since I trade to inspire HR I have just problems and frustration.
