Inspire HR step-count accuracy issue

I do have an active case lodged with Customer Service at this time.  However, I've looked at several other posts like mine and none of them seem to have been resolved... So I've decided to post any resolution by Customer services  here..

Meanwhile, having had a shower in my tiny flat, driven my Mum from our flat to have her Covid vaccine today, I've basically done no more than a couple of hundred steps all day, but my tracker recorded just shy of 4000 steps.

Also, it has not been detecting my sleep correctly so I've swapped the settings to sensitive mode. Will see how that goes just now...

So far, I'm not impressed by the device.  I've done all the adjusting of the tracker and swapping of wrists suggested.  My old Fitbit, which cost around the same price point in 2016 was better than this.  It didn't think driving was walking!  And I never had to fiddle with the data to effectively tell the device when I was or was not driving.  Most people are too busy with their lives to mess about manually adjusting readings, taking the device off and on, and remembering to swap from one wrist to another when going to bed.

Hope to find a solution otherwise it's back to well known retailer ...
