I just got an Inspire HR for christmas and i am having some issues with exercise tracking. It keeps tracking exercise when i am not exercising. My stats are all off because of this. And it will try to track exercise in the middle of the night, which is annoying with bright lights, etc.
I have turned off automatic exercise tracking and have restarted many times. Any other advice? Or will have to return device.

What exactly do you mean by it tracking exercise? Is there some field in the app that is getting populated incorrectly?
You say bright lights in the middle of the night. I don't know of that having anything to do with tracking exercise. It sounds to me like the display turning on as with a wrist turn. Is that what you mean by "tracking exercise"?

It will just start tracking “running” without me turning it on to do so. Then i will have to pause it and hit “finish” for it to stop. If i get up in the middle of the night, it will do this and light up and i have to get to “finish” for it to turn off/go dim again.

Mine is doing this as well, I also got it for Christmas! Really irritating, I can't even check the time without it start my "run" for me.

I could not find a good resolution, so I contacted fitbit via chat. After discussing with them the issues and attempts to restart, they decided that a replacement was the solution.
The new fitbit Inspire HR works great and no longer flashes at night, unless I accidentally push the button. It also no longer starts "runs" or other exercise without prompting it to do so.
