Inspire Smart Track Inaccuracy

I was on the eliptical trainer for 30 minutes and when I was done, the app said I was on it for 25 minutes, although the active minutes say I was active for 29 minutes. Plus I used the timer on the Inspire to countdown. Does the discrepancy Affect the calorie and step stats?

And now its a lot lot worse after rebooting. It didn't recognise my exercise or add to any of my steps, distance and calories burned. Looks like I'm going to become a Samsung customer soon.

@Codbone Thanks for joining us!

Sorry to hear about this. Your device detects activities based on the motion on your arm. The automatic detection is a feature called SmartTrack and it requires constant movement for usually at least 10 minutes to detect an activity(you can change this but 10 minutes is the minimum required). For example when using the elliptical machine make sure you have the moving bars so your device detects the motion and records the activity itself, once an Elliptical activity is saved on your account it should show on the Recent Exercise area. If your heart rate is high but there isn't much motion (yoga, weight lifting, etc.) then these activities will be difficult to be detected by your device. Still you can manually log your activity so you have a record on your account. Not sure why this happens but try to keep holding the bars for the entire activity and see if the issue persists. You can also try restarting your tracker.

Hope this helps.

Hello AlvaroFitbit

It's a little better this time showing 29:01, but it's still under 1 minute. I had my hands glued to the machine the whole time and the Active minutes come up as 17 minutes. Active minutes show when you work harder than normal right? I'm pretty sure I worked harder than last time and I had a higher score then. I'll try restarting and going again, but I'm not holding my breath.
