Inspire account setup issues

We purchased a Fitbit Inspire for my

son last year and set it up with my husband’s email. Husband received a watch for Christmas and set it up using that same email. Since then, we can’t find my son’s watch on the account. How can I find the account it’s linked to?

Since you didn't say, I am assuming you are not using a family account, and your son was set up as if he was at least 13 year old.  If this is not true, ignore all below.

You cannot have 2 people on same account/email.  When your husband's was set up, it must have noted he already had an Inspire set up, and asked did he wish to replace it.  Assuming he said yes, at that point, the account was linked to his new tracker as if it had replaced the Inspire, but the account should still show your son's history.  Essentially Fitbit thinks your son just switched Fitbit models.  If your husband did not change birthdate, weight, height, ... Fitbit would have been calculating his calorie burn and heart rate zone based on son's description.

What should have been done is your husband create a new Fitbit account with a different email.

At this point, you have to decide which one of you is to use the current email, and which is get a new account.  Bear in mind, the current account presumably has son's data from before Christmas, then husband's data since then.

Or maybe you want both to start over with 2 new accounts.

In either case, if they are both to be linked to same phone, you will have to keep logging out of one account and back in with the other.  I don't know what effect that has on notifications.

Before posting, re-read to see if it would make sense to someone else not looking at your Fitbit or phone.

Hi! Thanks for your reply! No, we didn’t set

up a family account since the only way to do that is if you have the Ace fitbit.

We would like to set up a new account for my son’s watch but really not sure how.

thanks again!

To set up another account on the same phone,  log out of phone fitbit app current account, then create another fitbit account with a different email.  But then you will have to keep logging out of one account and into the other to see both data.  I'm not sure about notifications, which or both trackers they would go to.
