I have a fitbit inspire. I wear it to bed at night and when I woke up this morning I synced it to the app. Well my step tracker says I took over 40,000 steps while I was sleeping and the other day it said about 30,000. What is going on and how do I fix this?

Hi there, @Maddie01234. Welcome to the Community Forums. Thanks for the details provided in your post about the issue with your Inspire. I understand where your concern is coming from.
By any chance, did you set up MobileTrack? MobileTrack is a feature that records basic stats such as steps using your phone's sensors if you don't have a Fitbit device available. But there was a fan or anything buzzing nearby, or if your phone was vibrating during that time, that might have caused you to receive incorrect steps tracked.
One of the recommendations is to disable this feature by following the steps described in this help article and monitor your tracker's behavior to see if this has any relationship.
Know that you can negate the extra steps in the Fitbit app. For more information, see How do I add, edit, or delete Fitbit data and activities?
Hope this helps.
