Inspire not syncing repeatedly

Replies are disabled for this topic. Start a new one or visit our Help Center.

I have had an Inspire since March 20. Initially I had it paired with the cell phone app but that was very flaky as to when it synced. I then tried the Windows 10 app and at first it synced really well. But for the last 4 or 5 days it has been incredibly hard to get it to sync.

It has now not synced since yesterday. The app simply says the device cannot be found. I have tried restarting the device, I have tried un-pairing it and then re-pairing it to the app on 3 different computers and the cell phone. I could not even pair it on the second two attempts on the computer because this device simply could not be found. Although it got found once on the cell phone and paired it refuses to sync.

I am really not happy because no device in this day and age should be so fundamentally flaky. The device itself is wonderful for counting steps, etc.but there is really no point in paying for this if that is all it will do. A $5 pedometer could do what my Inspire is currently doing.

I'm having the same problem. Synced once . Bought new last Tuesday and the time is not right on it either. The sleep mode is gone off it too. Not good value for money.

AGREED! I have had mine for less than a week and it REFUSES to stay synced! I am DONE! I wanted this one because I have a very small wrist and my Charge 2 HR is big and clunky, but this is going back. I cannot tolerate this hassle. And on top of that, the battery life is HORRENDOUS! A shame. I really wanted something smaller, but I'm not paying for something that works only when it wants to. Fitbit, make sure the device WORKS before you start selling it!

I’m having a syncing problem too! It’s very random when it will sync - I can have it sitting right next to my phone and it constantly says “looking” and doesn’t connect. Occasionally when I open my app the stats will be updated but that is very inconsistent. In addition, the battery life is far less than expected and I feel like the charging cord is ridiculously short and with the weak magnetic connection, it is difficult to use with any normally placed outlet in my home. I had a charge HR before this and really liked it, but chose to switch to the inspire hr because of the smaller size and the ability to wear while swimming, and I’m pretty upset that this new device feels like a lemon to me. I feel like Fitbit needs to step up and do something about the laundry list of issues people are having with these devices, especially since they are disappointing many loyal & longtime Fitbit customers.

Same here.  I have been happy with Flex 2, but wanted a product which also has a watch.  Got an Inspire through Amazon, it wouldn't pair at all.  Sent it back to fitbit for a replacement.  This one paired, but the pairing failed during the download, ironically at the "clocks" part of the download.  Have not yet gotten it to synch or pair since.  Using Kindle fire and Windows 10.

It's really nice looking and has great features but it is just WAY too
finicky. I finally gave up last night and sent it back for a refund. Such a
shame.

Fitbit you need to do better than this. Where is the company and support staff here??

What is the plan to fix it?

I wish there had been some reply to your comment.  I am having the same problem.  Did you ever get it fixed?

I returned it. My sister sent me Her old Garmin, which also did not work. I am waiting for new bluetooth-enabled hearing aids. Then my daughter will send me an old iPhone, and I will be ready to go with the Garmin. Because of planned obsolescence, I won't use it for much else-- Kindle will be my go-to for the rest.

Thanks for your reply. I called Fitbit last night after my post. I got an agent that was really nice and very patient with me and together we got the correct App on my computer to get things synced. It seems I had the wrong one and I also had my first fitbit too close to the computer so it was fighting signals between the 2 of them. Anyway, it has synced and now I hope it will be less of a pain. I like the fitbit when it is working correctly but that was the 2nd or 3rd time I have had problems with it since restarting its use here in March. Best wishes with your “gadgets” and Apps. Life sure used to be simpler before technology…maybe I am just too old to feel completely comfortable with it all too. Bye!

Nope. I wound up sending it back and going back to my Charge 2 HR. I really
wish they would fix it because I would really like a smaller tracker.

I called fitbit and they found I did not have the correct App for my computer and I had my old fitbit too close to the computer so they were fighting for signals. I hope this is all it was and it will be working correctly now. Best wishes!

I too am having problems with my inspire. There have been several occasions in the 6 months that I have had it that it hasn’t synced. Previously this has only lasted a day or two and it has caught up. This time it has been a week and it refuses to sync, my Phone app just says can’t find device. This is completely unacceptable and like several other users, I feel ripped off. These devices are not cheap and they should be of good quality and reliable. Clearly not the case. What are you doing about this common problem Fitbit?

I tried restarting fitbit and it didn't work. Today I uninstalled Fitbit app on phone and then reinstalled it. This worked and I was able to sync it with my phone again after 4 days.

I had problems with this on my laptop. I would unpair and rep-pair daily. It had to do with my inspire being connected both with my laptop and my iPhone. After a rocky start, exclusively using phone with Inspire resolved the problem.
