Inspire - track sleep

Does the Inspire track sleep ?  I recently purchased the inspire and noticed it’s not tracking sleep as it’s listed in advertising.  I did see where it doesn’t provide the detailed sleep patterns of the HR version but thought it would at least give me how long I slept each night

Hi @Kymickeyfan717, welcome to the community.

Yes your Inspire should definitely track sleep, albeit not the detailed (sleep stages) tracking that the HR version does.

I would first suggest restarting your device by following the steps here. Give that a try and see if it fixes you issue.

I’ve restarted the tracker but nothing from last night synced over for sleep.  I’ll wait and see what happens tonight.  I’ve only had this tracker for less than a week

No sleep was synced last night or this morning.  I successfully restarted the device yesterday and performed a sync this morning.   Could I have a bad device?  Are there any additional steps I should try before contacting support

So if you open the fitbit app and then tap the sleep tile, it doesn't show any data at all? How about if you go to the dashboard on fitbit.com from a Web browser, is that also blank?

Strange, the only other thing I can suggest thag I don't think you have tried is a factory reset (clear data) of the device. If you do decide to try this, make sure you sync the device before hand so that you don't lose any data.

Sleep is still not showing after contacting support twice.  Yesterday they asked me to restart device and change it to wear on dominant arm.  Tried that last night with no success.  Contacted support via chat and today’s rep had me read device via the app and wants me to try it again tonight.  We were manually able to add sleep .  Their suggestion if it doesn’t sync automatically tonight is to manually add sleep ourselves everyday.  That’s unacceptable since the Inspire states it does track sleep on its own.  I’m sure I’ll be contacting support again tomorrow explaining my frustration with this new product and how it’s not living up to its advertising

I’ve been having the same problem, it doesn’t track my sleep at all.  Except when I sit down to watch TV, it tracks that hour or 2 as sleeping.  Very disappointing if we’re going to have to manually track it ourselves, it was the original reason I bought a Fitbit.

I’m still working with support on this issue.  They stated they are advancing the issue to the next level.  Guess we will see what happens

Me again, Sorry. I can't find a way to delete my post above. My fitbit had simply not synced/finished syncing yet - My sleep was logged after all from last night so please ignore previous.

Or if a mod would advise how to delete posts here I'd be grateful!

I’m still waiting to hear the next response from support.  It didn’t auto track sleep last night.  We’ve tried everything from changing arms to changing the sensitivity on the sleep settings - nada.  Very frustrating that the device is not working as expected and support is less than helpful

First mine was tracking incorrectly, did a rest with tech support last night, now it's not doing anything 😑

I didn’t do anything to mine and now it seems to be tracking sleep again.  I have 2 other fitbits on my account (which I didn’t know you’re not supposed to do) and that might have screwed up my sleep syncing temporarily. I hope they can find a way to resolve your issue!!

Oh wow, my one is still on my account,  but it's dead. Maybe I should inquire about how to delete it

I can't get my Inspire to track sleep either.  I might end up calling them.

Are you wearing it in the clip? I think I've found a solution. I wear it in the clip, but I keep it set at "on wrist" all the time, then it automatically tracks my sleep anyway. I see no difference in wearing it this way except I get more functionality.

Yes I'm wearing it on the clip - don't like using the watch as I've got my own.  I'll try setting it to wrist and see if that helps.  The sleep icon on the face of it still is dim and is not lit up like the others.

If you are wearing it in the clip, have it set your wrist, and manually set when you get in bed. Then it will track

I had to call Fitbit and give them my e-mail address and they had to change the settings on my account.  I looked everywhere on their site and there was nothing I could find to change the settings.  It is working now but have no clue what he did or changed.  It's just probably best to have them deal with it as I tried for a week and it drove me crazy trying different things.

My inspire HR seems to think I never sleep. It’s quite frustrating. I’ve had a couple of other fitbits. Inspire is the worse one.

Did you manage to get this working? Mine didn’t track my sleep and it’s the only reason I wanted one!

New inspire HR. Sleep option is not active on phone. I’m unable to activate it. Go to website and it wants me to manually log my sleep.

I bought this model to automatically track everything, last update was at 6 pm yesterday.

not a good start with my first Fitbit. My wife has another model that’s working fine
