Does the Inspire HR have an interval timer? The app has settings for it in Exercise shortcuts. I am wanting to do some HIIT and the interval timer would be great but I cannot find a way to use it on the fitbit.

Hi, @hhr1315, yes, there is an interval timer for the Inspire HR. You need to set up your timings (rest and move) in the app and then sync your Fitbit.
When you are ready to start, swipe down on the Inspire HR to bring up the exercise menu, tap once, and then swipe up until you come to Interval. When Interval shows, tap to bring up the start screen and then tap to begin. You will feel a vibration to alert you to change from move to rest. A short press of the button will pause the workout, and a second press brings the finish screen. Tap that to get your stats for the workout. Another short press will bring you back to the watch face.
I hope this helps. Welcome to the forums!

Please give directions to location of interval timer? Does it require that I have a subscription to Fitbit coach? I have been to all the menus and I see nothing about adding a timer. Thank you

And why does Fitbit app not sync or update display when I am running a 3rd party interval timer in the background ... makes no sense... the Inspire HR is the only Bluetooth device connected. Thanks

Hi, @Cathleo5 , if "Interval workout" is not among your exercise shortcuts, then you will need to add it in. You do not need a subscription to Coach.
You can load up to 6 shortcuts on your Inspire HR. On the app click on your Inspire HR icon and scroll down to exercise shortcuts. If there are 6 already there you will need to delete one of them in order to add interval workout.
Once you have added it in, be sure to sync your Fitbit so it is updated with the change.
If you need more detailed instructions, please post again letting us know which app OS you are using (Android, iOS, or Windows).

Thank you so much! Exactly what I needed. I’ve only used the Fitbit generally, tracking exercise minutes, reminders to get up from my computer at work once an hour, meeting weekly exercise minute goals. Thank you for making me smarter. LOL I’m sure it’s in the instructions, but it doesn’t seem like a very intuitive place to locate those shortcuts, versus the Fitbit Coach shortcuts that are front and center. iOS. Thanks again

@Cathleo5 , I am so glad that explained it for you. Enjoy your intervals! When I was doing couch to five k I found the interval training shortcut on my Fitbit really helped with my training program, though I did have to adapt it a little (because the Fitbit program is quite basic with just one sequence of work/rest -- bit with a little adaptation I found I could make it work.

Hi @Julia_G,
For years I've tried to get back into a running routine. I've always loved running, but every time I tried to build up a practice again, my knees started hurting. So now I put myself on a couch to 5K training as well, to build up my routine in a healthy way.
Could you please share how you used the interval training on the Inspire HR for this. Because indeed, my interval trainings have a bigger variety than what is possible on my Fitbit (e.g. running 1, 2, 1, 2, 3, 2, 1 minutes with 1 or 2 minutes rest). Any tips on what's the best way to do interval training with my Inspire HR?
Thanks a million, Cuki

Curious if you have ever figured out how to set up the intervals for more than just one type. I would like to use it for a ladder training, but can't seem to figure if that is possible. Thanks.

Hi, @Hlfdznbundles , unfortunately you can only set up one interval on the Inspire HR, for example 5 mins run, 2 mins walk. You can’t do 5/2 and then a different interval without resetting, which you obv don’t want to do in the middle of your workout/ run.

How do you set up intervals?
I cannot find where to do it on the dashboard on my PC.

Hi, I just got an inspire hr and I’ve tried everything to set up my interval times but it always resets back to the default settings. I update it with the app and try to sync it with the watch and it says synced then goes back to default on my phone. This is an important aspect of why I got this device and I can’t seem to change the interval times..

There isn’t an option on my inspire hr app to set up interval timings. Please unbury it—it’s a pretty basic request—or ask the developers to include it

Hi, @Indyhappymom , you need to set your interval in the app rather than on the Fitbit device itself.
Click on Inspire HR and go to “exercise shortcuts”. Make sure “interval workout” is among your shortcuts (if not you can add it, but you may need to delete a shortcut you do not use if you already have 6 shortcuts). When you click on “interval workout” you can set the interval and the number of repeats. Be sure to sync after setting up.
i hope this helps. Please post again if it is unclear.
