Is Inspire HR swim proof?

It really is a simple question.  Can I swim with my Inspire HR on?  I live in an apartment building with a 3ft deep pool that I have been swimming back and forth in for 3 or more hours for the last few days.  I haven't been wearing my Fitbit because I am unsure if it is safe.  It seems like a pretty simple question, yes or no, is it okay to swim with my Fitbit?  But I seem to be getting conflicting results in all of my searches online.

yes, absolutely.  You can swim with your Inspire HR.  In fact, it is designed to detect your swim activity if you like to swim laps and turn that activity on (you can do it in the app under “exercise goals” - ask if you want more information)

the Inspire HR is rated water resistant up to 50 m.  Your pool will be absolutely fine.  From the Fitbit website:

  • Water Resistant to 50M

You can wear Inspire & Inspire HR in the shower, pool and beyond. Plus, they automatically track how long you’re swimming.*

Although you can swim, diving does put significant pressure which could exceed the specifications, so that probably is not advisable.

I hope this helps. Welcome to the forums.

Thank you so much @Julia_G and @Odyssey13 !   I thought I had read it in the manual back in December when my husband got my Fitbit for me for Christmas.  I need to get more exercise in to lose weight and swimming is easier on my knees. (I sound like an old lady...  But I'm only 28!  I swear!) I just found the "exercise goals" and adjusted it!  Thank you both again so much!  I'm so very excited now! 🙂

@SarahLowery  you're wise to think to the future of your knees! Besides, age is only a number and it's how you feel as you journey towards your goals. You've got this!
