Hello to the community!
i have a question concerning linking several devices to one Fitbit account. I know it’s been possible to use several fitbits on one account (for daily use and workouts). With Versa and Charge 3 it changed coz they seem to have too similar OS. I was exited therefore to see a new slim tracker - Inspire - but when I chose to set up a new device the app only gave me the option to switch from Versa to Inspire 😞. So does it mean these two are not compatible or does Fitbit still plan at some point to allow the use of both?

On all up-to-date versions of the apps -- iOS, Android and Windows -- you can only have one "smartwatch" at a time on a single account.
Currently this applies to Inspire and Inspire HR, which are considered "smartwatches" so you cannot add Inspire or Inspire HR to any account that already has Versa, Ionic, Charge 3, or Versa Lite.
Frim my personal experience, not Fitbit recommended: You may be able to add them if you are using certain older versons of some of the apps. Once added they do appear to work normally together, although some features may not work, in particular notifications, which appear to only work on the highest level device on your account.

It does seem that the Inspire or Inspire HR cannot be on the same account as a Charge 3, Versa or Ionic. As far as I know, fitbit have not made any comment as to whether this will change.

@SunsetRunner @SteveH Very interesting that this happened. I am an iOS user. My Inspire HR set up on my account with a Charge 3 there. Set up easily with no problem at all.

@LZeeW, that’s interesting coz I also use iOS and with Versa it seems to be impossible. My BF uses charge 3 and iOS. I’ll check if it’s possible on his

I was able to add an Inspire to my account with a Versa already on it and both are working well together. I was excited to see them playing nicely and to have the ability to switch back and forth. I on iPhone 7.

I was able to set up my Inspire HR on the same account with my Charge 3 and Flex 2. Haven't tried it with the Versa, but I'd assume it would work just fine.

I'd love to know this too, before I hit the buy button on an Inspire HR!

I have a Versa Lite and Inspire on the same account. I have been twitching between the two today and all is well. Getting notification on both trackers, tested alarms on both and steps are synching. I'm very happy to see them working well together.

Hey friends!
Thanks for calling this out. It was my understanding that Inspire would not be able to pair with Ionic, Charge 3 or Versa. I have forwarded this feedback to our product team and hope to have some clarification soon.
I will let you all know once I hear back from them. Thanks again!

I have a Galaxy phone (Android) and have been unable to pair my Ionic, Charge 3, Versa, Versa Lite, or Inspire HR with anything else but my Alta HR on the same account.

I have a smartphone with an older version of the Fitbit app (iPhone 5s), it seems to allow to add Inspire to the account. The latest version of the app (update was I think 2 days ago) doesn’t. So maybe Fitbit wanted to allow it but then changed its mind?

@MattFitbit - I found I was able to have the Versa SE and the Inspire together on one account. Switching was as easy as putting one device down ... syncing it ... then picking up the other device.
Then I removed the SE from my account and added the Versa Lite. Switching from one device to the other is a bit more complicated now. I get the same screen as @SunsetRunner . It tells me I already have the device on my account and would I like to switch. It’s not a bad process but it does take a bit more time as I have to enter the new 4 digit number, accept the terms, etc. Switching back, it is the same process - enter the 4 digit code, accept terms, etc.

This seems to be very hit and miss, which is odd. I'd love @MattFitbit or one of the Fitbit crew to let us know - happy to buy an Inspire but not if it means I have to also give up the Versa!

I was just about to purchase the inspire HR but not now. I have charge 3 and Alta and thought the Inspire would replace the Alta.
Thanks for starting this topic and saving me the hassle of purchasing and returning

It seems that many Smartwatch users, whether Charge, Versa, etc. would like to see more than one type of tracker work on their account. If the developers attack this problem and find a solution, I'm sure there will be a huge uptick in sales. I know I'd add another one, myself.

I don't think it's marketing that's the challenge. Let me geek out for a second 🙂
The smart watches, like the Versa, Inspire and Charge 3 run on different software (called Fitbit OS) than the more basic bands like the Alta, Flex etc.
I suspect the reason you can't pair more than one Fitbit OS device at a time, is that their developers have yet to tackle the complex work needed to have them sync seamlessly.
Given how few people would own and wear more than one smartwatch, I can see why that wouldn't be a priority for them right now (forums like this attract super-fans, who are the minority likely to own more than one high end Fitbit).
Either way - be great if they were communicative enough to just tell us the deal.
