The notification are a bit confusing can you have somebody send a message to just your device or does it have to go to your phone computer or tablet as well?

Message has to be to you phone.  Then it gets to your wrist via bluetooth from phone to Fitbit.

Before posting, re-read to see if it would make sense to someone else not looking at your Fitbit or phone.
