Over counting steps ridiculously

Hi! I started using my Inspire HR yesterday and I found it seriously over-counting my steps. I got 400 steps from a shower of 10 minutes, 200 steps from a sleep of 6 hours, and 400 steps from a 25 min drive. 

Just now, I was working in my office for 1 hour and had not left my seat, I suddenly got some kind of achievement unlock notification on my number of steps. I’m thinking to myself... Is this some kind of joke? 

I see that many users have this issue too, and I tried different troubleshooting solutions without success. Is there anything else that can be done?

I just put mine on for the first time today and am finding similar issues. 300 steps sorting laundry from a stationary spot...hmmmm. I don’t think this is going to work for me. I’m going to try it this week then return it if it doesn’t seem to “add up”. Doesn’t serve my purpose if the step counter isn’t accurate.

I wonder if this is my device that is faulty, or its algorithm isn’t accurate. Seems that we are not the only ones with this problem and the device isn’t to be blamed.
