Hi I really need some help! I have not used my Fitbit in months, and now the screen is black and it is not connected to any device. It vibrates when I touch it sometimes, and a smiley face has come up as well but other than that it is not responding. I do not have the heart to throw it away and really need some help. I can’t even return because my warranty is over. HELP!

Hi, @Reaiah , the best thing you can do is to give it a couple of hours charge. even if it does not seem to be charging, and then try the restart:

  1. Plug the charging cable into the USB port on your computer or any UL-certified USB wall charger.
  2. Hold the other end of the charging cable near the port on the back of the tracker until it attaches magnetically. The pins on the charging cable must connect securely with the port.
  3. Press and hold the button on your tracker for 5 seconds.
  4. Release the button. When you see a smile icon and the tracker vibrates, the tracker restarted.

You may need to repeat the restart process several times, and you may need to hold the button for considerably longer that 5 seconds, but with luck it will spring back to life again.

Let us know how it goes.  Welcome to the forums!

Hi, thanks for the advice. I tried this and the smiley face showed up, but after that the screen went black again. And now it just vibrates on its own every 5-10 seconds

Hi, @Reaiah , I would suggest trying the restart procedure a couple of times more, and if that doesn’t work unplug it and let the batter die completely and then start all over again with 2 hours charge and then the restart.  As it is out of warranty there is not a lot more than can be done.  But it might just work.
