I’ve had my Inspire 2 for a couple weeks and have felt that it consistently records more steps than it should. Today I wore both the Inspire 2 and my old One...and sure enough, the inspire gave me 2,419 more steps than the One. That’s unacceptable...how do I know which is accurate?
Hi, @LynneGerhardt, welcome to the community, I'm not familiar with the older Fitbit devices but I am confident the newer generation uses a more developed algorithm to detect steps. This article How accurate are Fitbit devices? covers step measurement and management in detail I hope you find it useful. If you are still unable to make progress please post here again.
Cheers

Best AnswerThank you for taking the time to respond, but after reading the link you sent, I’m no wiser. I’ve worn a Fitbit for years, and I know this new one is giving me about 2,000 more steps that I really get. It’s very frustrating to have spent the money and not getting true readings.
Hi- I’m having this issue too. I’ve never had a Fitbit before but I know it’s captured too many steps- for example, when playing with my toddler it gave me 200 steps even though I was sitting on the floor the whole time. I’ve checked the profile and wrist settings as well, but no fix. Anyone else have any tips?
Best AnswerMy Aspire results compared to my.old Fkex and Flex2 are similar. I got 30 steps on Aspire while standing still washing my hands.

Best AnswerUpdate: ended up taking it off my wrist & using on a belt clip instead. Much more accurate.
