This is a curiosity. Maybe someone can explain what happens. I can be dreaming as I wake up. I remember the dream. But when I check my sleep log, no dreams are reported. I seem to be registering very sparse dream time although I know I dream. Why does this happen?

@Fran321 Dreaming happens during REM sleep, but that is an EEG diagnosis. Fitbit doesn't measure your EEG and it relies on other physiologic findings, such as your breathing rate and heart rate variability to estimate REM sleep. The Quantified Scientist is a scientist who "road tests" all brands of trackers and smartwatches. He has a portable EEG machine/headpiece that he uses when he compares real sleep to wearable sleep. Fitbit is generally very good, but it isn't perfect. The same thing happens to me. I often know I was dreaming right before I woke up, but it's missing on my sleep stages. It is a limitation of the technology.
