Hi jmb1111,

I checked with around ten friends and family and Canada and none of them can connect to the page either.

The good news is that the support folks emailed me a link to the Australian page and it worked for me. I hope it works for you too!  https://www.fitbit.com/au/setup

Good luck!

Hi @jmb1111   check out the information on how to set up - click to go there. The url you posted isn't right. You need to go to: https://www.fitbit.com/setup

@jmb1111   I'm sorry, but the Inspire can't be set up on a Mac using Fitbit Connect.  If your laptop is a MacBook, this also applies.  Here is a link to the Inspire Manual.  The pertinent information is on p 7-8.  You need a compatible smartphone/tablet or a Windows PC and the Windows 10 app.

@jmb1111   Just to clarify, when you tried on your laptop, were you using the Windows 10 app for Fitbit?

I have the same issue with trying to reach the fitbit.com/setup page and haven't had any luck through support (ticket #34117216).  I've been told that the way to add music to my new Versa 2 is through the Fitbit Connect app...which I can only get from fitbit.com/setup. I asked for a direct link to the download, but was told they only have the direct link for windows...and I need it on a mac.  I essentially keep getting told by support, "The page works for us."

I'm getting the same 404 error (and I'm from Canada also). Fitbit.com/setup takes me to https://www.fitbit.com/en-ca/404 with the page not found message (the now annoying, "Sorry, that page is following a different trail" message). I have tried accessing the fitbit.com/setup page a number of different ways, including https://www.fitbit.com/setup?platform=mac from my mac and https://www.fitbit.com/setup?platform=win from three different Windows 10 computers on two different networks.  I've also tried different browsers (Chrome, Firefox, IE 11 and Edge), I've also tried connecting my laptop to my phone, but still the same error page.  I even had a couple of others check from my office (big employer, big network) and they get the same error page.

It would be great if someone technical could provide some advice to help with this.  Here's the last message I received from support:

Thank you for providing the screenshot of the error that you’re getting when trying to download the Fitbit Connect.

Upon checking, we have confirmed that the link for set up is working and we were able to test and download the Fitbit Connect.

To verify, you can click on this link that should forward you to the set up page: Fitbit set up

We hope above link helps. For additional assistance, don't hesitate to contact us.

Sincerely,

[NAME] and the Fitbit Team

I am connecting to the fitbit site and can access the dashboard, and the page not found error is coming from the fitbit servers (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/HTTP_404 for reference).  Curious if others in Canada can access fitbit.com/setup (I'm in Toronto).

Thanks in advance for the help.

Rather frustrating - I think it must be because we are in Canada.

I'll try again tomorrow but if it doesn't work I am returning it.

I have survived 60+ years without a fitbit, I figure and I can manage
without it a while longer

@LiliyaFitbit Should we expect a forthcoming fix to the Canadian set-up page? I've been tweeting at support all weekend about this same issue and they keep asking me if I've followed the setup directions in the help pages, which is clearly not the problem.

It's all well and good to have a workaround, but when the device says 'go to fitbit.com/setup' and following that instruction results in a never-ending circuit of Error 404 pages for an entire country of users, I could see customers simply returning their devices instead of trial-and-erroring an alternate setup method.

Thanks for your comment.

I had my problems but upon reading the other problems people were having, I
decided that life was too short to continue to fight this thing and I
returned the Fitbit.

I now rely on my common sense to to ensure that I a keep moving in positive
way.

Best wishes to all who use it successfully.
