Is there a way to stop the Fitbit app from annoying me about the firmware update? If this is the same update I installed two weeks ago that destroyed my 9-month-old Inspire 2 I want nothing to do with it. I just got the replacement Inspire 2 this morning (thank you warranty) and now I'm being bugged to update the firmware on the new one. Not going to happen. I can't find a setting to turn those notifications off. Please tell I'm just missing it somewhere. Thanks. 🙂

So I guess no one knows???? I can't keep using the app if it doesn't stop annoying me. Users should be able to turn off ALL notifications. This one pops up every time I return to the main screen (at least 10 times every time I'm in the app) and it's so big and in the way, it's beyond aggravating. I WILL NOT be installing that update. It already bricked one device, not bricking the replacement device too. Make the notification go away!!!!!

I'm glad to hear that "at least" the new one didn't get automatically updated to that new thing and thus instantly bricked before you could ever use it. Fair warning, this will likely get moved to the "feature suggestion" forum (possibly as a reply to someone else's post that is only slightly related) instead of just telling you that you are S.O.L.

I uninstalled the app. Now I can't track my progress but at least it's not annoying me any more. It would be so much easier if they just fixed the update so it stopped bricking devices, but they won't. smh.

Oh dear. I'm so sorry. I've been gritting my teeth over that notification (and also grimly refusing to update), so I get where you're coming from. What a crazy situation for them to have such a complete lack of concern about user experience, bricking devices, etc. It doesn't make sense to me. I can't help but wonder whether the people at the top are even hearing about the bad things that are happening. For example, the surveys related to the community are so poorly designed, it would be virtually impossible to get meaningful, actionable results. Maybe they don't know? I just don't get it....

I'm getting the same updates continuously. It's been like this since the end of August. I've been onto Customer Services/IT support 3 times. And follow their instructions to the letter. It doesn't make any difference and my phone unsyncs every couple of days 😒. It is driving me insane. Have to keep getting rid of the notifications every 5 seconds! My fitness/diet is beginning to suffer as I used My Fitbit religiously to track everything. Any advice of how to get rid of this apart from throwing my phone at the wall 😡😡😡

Unfortunately there is no way to turn these kinds of notifications off which is why I uninstalled the app. The device is basically useless without it, it's just an overpriced pedometer now with no way to track anything else, like sleep or water intake. I get it, the devs want us to update but they should try fixing the broken update instead of constantly annoying us to install it. I'm already looking at a difference brand device to pick up on Black Friday. 😑
