Syncing process deleting steps

I had the alta 2 and did not have ANY issues - I just got my new Inspire 2 and like the upgraded features BUT when I sync to my app my steps decrease. I had over 4000 this afternoon but when I synced it again later in the afternoon, it went down to 550! I've read a lot of forums and have tried resetting the watch and the app but it hasn't fixed the problem. We have a very competitive work week challenge group and I am sad to say that I am now in last place - and no, manually adding does not count in those challenges. How can I fix this issue? The only theory I can think of is that it might have something to do with my iphone's health app, which calculates only when I have my phone on me? But it shouldn't erase the steps dropping it down... it should pull the steps from my fitbit on my wrist. Help!

Hi @Smuff8166, welcome to the Community Forums!

Thanks for bringing this to our attention and for the details that were shared in your post. To better assist you with this situation, can you please let me know which iPhone are you using? When was the first time you experienced this situation and how many times since then? Is this occurring only with steps or other stats are also being affected? The iPhone's health app should not interfere with the Fitbit app because both applications are not linked. Also, can you please confirm if you're using a Fitbit Inspire or the Fitbit Inspire 2? You post mentions the second version but it was posted in the Inspire forums.

I'll be waiting for your reply

Hi. I have the iphone 8. I just got the inspire 2 last Friday and it had always had this problem after setting it up. I've been spending the whole time I've gotten the thing trying to trouble shoot. it happens everyday, every time I sync. Just this morning I took my dog for a walk and my fitbit showed over 3000 steps and I synced when I got home it dropped to 1800. It's hard to believe almost 2.5miles is worth 1800. (rounding those #s).

I haven't used any other stats just yet because this thing can't even get my steps right. I've rebooted, factory reset, reinstalled my app. I have a friend that got hers the same time and is not experiencing this.

And there were only 2 options to post to; inspire or inspire HR so I just chose 1. I have the inspire 2.

I am  not new to the fitbit tracker and loved the alta  2 and never had any issues. I thought an upgrade was due but I did not expect this weird issue that I cannot figure out. Let me know if you want any more information.

Still playing with it. I manually entered a workout and it subtracted steps and dropped my miles, on both the app and on the desktop. Maybe I should delete my entire account?
