Tap does not work on Inspire HR

Last week, the screen in my Inspire HR stopped working altogether.  I restarted it to no avail and still it would not work.  

The next day it started working again and it all seemed normal until I tried to start an activity. 

I can go to Exercise->Run.  Tapping works all the way until I get the arrow to actually start the exercise.  At that point, it does not respond.

 

Tapping works fine in other places, like setting up alarms or timers.  It does not work for starting activities (as per above) or change settings.

 

Please help.  Restarting the device by holding the button 5 seconds while charging would not work.

 

Factory resetting is one of the things I cannot tap through, so that is also out of the question.
