I have the Fitbit app on my phone. Recently the number 96 in red appears next to it. I can't find any reference to the number in the app. What does it refer to?

Hello @Doverpro75 and welcome to the Help forum.  Numbers in an app icon are called badge notifications.  It means you have messages or notifications in your Fitbit app.  Many iPhone users said this number appeared with an iOS update.  First, check your Fitbit app.  Tap on your inbox in the upper right and check both messages and notifications and delete them.  A few users said they didn't have any, despite having a badge notification.  If you want to remove this number on the Fitbit icon on your phone's home screen, you need to do the following.  Go to your iPhone Settings, tap on Notifications, scroll down to Fitbit and toggle Badges to Off.
