Hi, I’m a wheelchair user with the inspire HR. I’ve read that to change steps to pushes, I have to change the stride. I’ve changed this, but it’s still not changing the amount of steps per push. Is there anyway I can match the steps feature with how many wheels I do? Am I just doing something wrong? Thanks

Stride length should have nothing to do with number of steps detected - it is just to calculate distance from step count.
I would figure you would get one step per each push, but not in wheelchair so just a guess based on what I've seen of other arm movements and steps.
Re you getting any steps recorded at all? If so, are they corresponding to count of pushes by any multiple or fraction?

I’m getting steps, but one push records as about 7 steps and I’m unsure why it’s doing so, and if there’s any way to help. Thank you for clarifying about stride length also!

When walking, every arm swing corresponds to a step, swinging the arm front and back corresponds to 2 steps. I would expect it would depend on our arm motion, maybe it just pushes forward, or forward and down, and if there are any other motions of your arms within the strokes. I'm just guessing here, but it does depend on the motions your wrist goes through.
I have a similar, though less extreme issue using rowing machine. I would think one pull front and back would count as 2 steps, but not so; maybe some up-and-down or other irregularity in my stroke.
You could still adjust your stride to give approximate distance; if you can go a set distance, say on a quarter mile track, see how many steps that records as, then set stride length to make that many "steps" count as that distance.
Sorry I can't be of more help.
