Instructions to add a new device say "Tap the Today tab and tap your profile picture, Tap set up a device, choose your device and follow the on screen instructions" My today tab does not contain my profile picture, and I cannot find any other means of setting up the new device. Suggestions? (I've tried going to profile and tapping the picture there, but no joy)

No - no profile picture, although I have one on the profile

But does the rest of your phone app screen look similar? If there is just a blank circle in that spot, click that.

It might help if you could post a screen cap of your app. Is it Android or IOS? Are you sure it is the latest app version?
