Ok - now I understand, even if 5G is not Wi-Fi. 5G is strictly cellular while Wi-Fi is a local wireless network that can ultimately connect your device to the Internet.
Anyway, contrary to popular belief/misunderstanding, your Versa 2 only allows the use of a Wi-Fi connection when it deems that the higher battery drain caused by its use is overridden by the benefit of its use. It is my understanding that it pretty much applies only to firmware/app updates and music transfer from either your computer or a subscription.

I ran a test earlier this year in response to a question in another thread, initiating a Wi-Fi connection without doing much else and the connection dropped within five minutes, supporting the battery saving statement in the manual.
The Versa 2 depends on Bluetooth communications for pretty much everything except for firmware/app updates and music transfer.

Best Answer@MrMarv If you don't know better not to respond n confuse the person ...he is referring to the 5Ghz WiFi band of his home internet ...not cellular one .
To answer I guess versa 2 only supports 2.4Ghz band hence it couldn't connect to 5Ghz network.

And I missed the typo of 2.5G - and you are correct, the Versa 2 will not connect using the 5 Ghz band.
