I appreciate your message, and I'm sorry to hear your Versa 2 is counting way too many steps.
In order to verify this situation, I'll be glad to suggest you some tips.
It looks like you might have MobileTrack enabled.
MobileTrack uses your phone's sensors to count steps. This is useful when you've left your Fitbit at home (for example, charging). Make sure MobileTrack is not enabled.
Sometimes, steps recorded with your mobile phone may overwrite those from your Versa 2.
In the Fitbit app, tap the devices icon (top left). You'll see the devices linked to your account. If you see the Mobile Device Active option, tap it and remove it from your account.
