Good afternoon, I was hoping for some insight. I've never had a fitbit or smart watch. I have an opportunity to use points at my place of employment for a fitbit Versa. I know very little. Main thing I want to make sure is that I can go on a walk without taking my phone, will the Versa still track my steps, etc?

Regarding your inquiries, @JJP2 is correct. Your can use the Versa without taking your phone. Please check out this help article, which explains detailed information about the tracker. Also, check out this help page that tells you how Fitbit trackers sync their data.
