Suddenly my Versa 2 no longer receives text messages on the watch. Checked to see if it was still connected to Bluetooth and when I click on Versa 2 it pops a message - An App Is Needed to Use This Device. I have the app. Everything was working a week ago. I cleared the app cache - restarted the phone and the watch. Nothing is working. Within in app I can sync the device. But still don't receive text messages on the watch or have it connect to bluetooth. Anyone else having this issue? Need help.
I am also having the exact same issue and tried everything you did. Worked fine for over a year no clue whats going on. I am planning on calling tech support today. I will write down the step by step directions they give and repost them here.
So frustrating!
Thank you
Cori

I've been trying to contact support for a couple of days. I'm still having the issue. Going to try and call them again today.
OK I got text message notifications back. Rep had me go into the app and get to the notifications section. For me some permissions popped up which I had to accept. The app must have changed to where app permissions changed. From there she had me turn off all notifications. Then restart the phone
Once the phone reboots - Turn off bluetooth wait 10 seconds. Turn it back on. Go back to the app and turn on all notifications - make sure the correct text message app is selected in the Text message section. Then go to the watch and swipe to get to settings. Make sure that Do Not Disturb and sleep mode are turned off. Make sure the watch is set to vibrate. Then go back to the app and sync. After the sync send a text message as a test. Worked for me. Now I'm getting text message notifications again.
Thank you for taking the time to write all of this information.
Did exactly what you have listed and BOOM... Back on..
Super! Thank you
Best AnswerI'm having the same problem tried everything still not working. I called customer service they couldn't help. Said they would call back. They know there is a problem. I received an update and was hoping that would work. No luck. Ugh
Hi! I also tried what is listed above and it dod not work. What did work was to go into your fitbit app. Click on your profile picture. Underneath your name should be a list of apps you have connected to your fitbit. Versa 2 is one of them. Click on Versa 2. Scroll down. Under 'General' is notifications. Click on notifications and there you can allow fitbit access to your contacts and messages. After this, my test message came through🤗. Hope this works for you as well.
Thank you so much! This worked! I got a new phone one week ago and was getting so annoyed. I was doing everything I could possibly think of . It didn't occur that the settings within the app had defaulted back when I go the new phone.
Best AnswerI just recently got a Versa Lite and it's connected to my phone as far as I can sync to the app, I receive text and email notifications, but when I got to my Bluetooth screen on my phone and click on Versa Lite it says that I need an app to use this device. I'm confused.
