Android OUTLOOK Calendar meetings/Spotify/Bluetooth

Hi,

I have a Samsung S10 and have tried a few apps to get my OUTLOOK calendar meetings, but nothing seems to work. I tried events by Terry, which highlights Outlook, but that doesnt work either.

Other app's ask that I copy all meetings to a Google calendar but thats madness.

I had two Pebble watches and they were brilliant, so I was hoping with the acquisition the latest Versa would have many updates and get the basics right. The last 2 months of use with this versa 2 has been very disappointing. I just returned from London for example and the watch updates to GMT, then when returning to home country, it stayed on GMT. I was told to manually update time zone, despite it syncing to the phone and updating time on arrival in London, it couldnt do that coming back.

Spotify app also quite disappointing. I have the phone right against the watch and it says "connecting" and then fails. The time to connect to phone to change song, I am better off just walking to phone. Its not a one off instance of this failure. Pebble again was amazing at this, instant change/never lost connection with phone.

Recent update 31 Jan 2020, bluetooth seems to fail regularly and many phone sync errors. Restarting phone and watch doesnt help.

Overall, I'm having way too many concerns since purchasing this watch. Many of the basic advertised functions are buggy and I certainly would not have purchased this watch had I trusted some of the reviews. I would not recommend this watch.

@realmcgregor Welcome to the Fitbit Community! It's great to have you here!

Sorry for the delay in my reply and for the issues you are having with your Versa 2. Regarding the outlook calendar app, you can try refreshing the link between your phone and your Versa 2 and see if this helps receiving notifications from this app. Start by doing the following:

  1. Go to your phone's bluetooth settings and remove all devices listed there.
  2. Restart your phone and restart your device
  3. Check that no battery saving app/feature on your phone is affecting your Fitbit app.
  4. Also, if you are using an Android device, check that your app has the necessary permissions (settings > apps > Fitbit > permissions) and make sure bluetooth and location services (GPS) are on.
  5. You can find troubleshooting instructions here.

Has the timezone issue repeated itself? Did the troubleshoot you described worked for you?

Remember when using Spotify that both apps need to be open so the link is kept active with your Versa 2. Still clearing the bluetooth connection as explained on the instructions above should help.

Finally the instructions above should help with sync and you can find more instructions here.

Let me know how it goes.

Hi,

Calendar: Resolved with the notifications in phone. They were on, but not configured correctly.

Time zone: The watch updates going out to a new country. Coming home, it stays on the previous time zone and to reset, i have to login to web, personal details, etc. The app doesnt resolve this no matter how many sync to watch and restarts

Spotify: Right next to the phone and still bluetooth fails. It takes too long to find connection to phone which is really disappointing. My pebble was brilliant with it, much faster too.

Hoping the watch improves. Thanks for your reply
