Anyone else having difficulty switching bands?

I have the SE version. I have no problem getting the woven band off and on. I get one of the silicone sides on no problem. The other side? The pin keeps popping out. (Yes, it’s angled, pin pressed down, I’m aware of the ridges...) I’m about to give up. Bands shouldn’t be this difficult to switch out.

Anyone else experiencing issues it is it just me? I’m wondering if it’s my Versa. Especially since I’m only having difficulty on one side. (Always the same. )

Yes, the buckle side is the issue for me as well.

It’s the silicone FitBit Versa Band that came with my Versa watch.

So I understand all your frustrations. As I removed my Milanese band and put the factory silicone band back on, I realized the angle other users referred to. The band sits at a 45 degree angle, so you cannot put it in straight 180 degrees - it will never go in this way. You have to put it in at 45 degrees just as it would sit when locked in while holding the pin back. It will literally slide in with ease.

Thank you! Your suggestion worked perfectly!!! 😃

You’re the only one who really explained what to do, thanks. This is really a design flaw, I won’t be changing bands often.  Makes wish I’d of slurged on an Apple Watch .

Totally agree, switching bands shouldn’t be such a pain. I gave up on my new bands.

It's not just you. It's a terrible design. Other than that I love the Versa .:)

I have had great luck with third party Blaze bands, but only nightmares with the versa. Only use fitbit bands.

Spoiler
Another reason to avoid third party bands is due to their size. Albeit I wear a size large, most of the third party bands are a size small.

Large size won’t work either.

I have had this same nightmare I have bought numerous 3rd party bands with no success and like many others getting mighty frustrated! I have watched several tutorials until I cam across this one on youtube. It's not the best tutorial but what he did was suggest when you have put the pin end that doesn't have the pull back on it in the correct hole, you then pull the mechanism on the other end and place the strap in the 'right area'. When you have done that wiggle that strap very slightly until you can here/feel that end slip into place and it should work. I have managed to get my first strap to change since I bought the Versa in April!!!!!!!! https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-oEsnvH21tA Hope it works for you guys! (I still think it's the worst mechanism to change a strap ever!)

I gave up on 3rd party bands, worst mechanism ever, Fitbit should redesign an adaptor for the problem.

Thanks for your suggestions. I took my pin out and was able to see where to place the band. I still had difficulty getting the band on but was successful after only a few tries as opposed to doing it before taking the pin out to see how it lined up. Should have tried change the band before I painted my nails!

Yeah definitely need to donit befire nail painting as it completely completely ruins your nails trying to get the **ahem** bands on 😞

I was frustrated as I was just trying to switch the small band for the large band that came with the Fitbit. I have had a charge hr 2 and it was easy to switch. I should have researched more before buying this one but since I didn’t need the GPS on the watch I couldn’t see paying extra for the iconic. I tried looking up YouTube videos to see how to change out the bands but what you wrote made more sense as I could see when I did it with just the pin I wasn’t pushing it in far enough so the pin wasn’t locking in place in the hole in the second side. I was ready to give up and send it back! You saved me having to do that so many thanks!!!!

I’m glad I was able to help. I do find it easier now as well. i even tried another 3rd party band... while it was still a little difficult I’m able to change my bands now under 5 minutes.

I bought a 3rd party metal band and only one side sticks properly. I returned the Fitbit versa and got a totally new one, to have the same exact issue.

I have to thank you for this tip.  It's still no easy but I finally got the 2nd side in (a Fitbit brand silicone band) by putting in the side of the pin with the "handle" in first, and then sticking the other side of the band in as best I could with a thin metal putty knife.  What a nightmare.  I had a Blaze before and it was so easy to change bands compared to this.

Thanx for the feedback, I guess I would have to buy the fitbit brand metal
bands. Because the 3rd party one that I bought will not fit at all.
