I initially downloaded the Fitbit app when I purchased a Charge 3 a few months ago. I have since purchased a Versa because I thought it looked better. However, the versa doesn’t seem to track sleep as well as the charge 3 did. It’ll show I’ve only slept 2-3 hours when I know that can’t be correct (any thoughts on this would be appreciated).
So I wanted to try and use the charge 3 to track sleep and the versa for everything else however I can’t have both a charge and a versa on the same account for some reason. So anyways I created a separate account to use the charge 3 and it showed a totally different layout on the app screen. The dashboard and everything looked different. I assumed it was an update however it’s not the same dashboard and layout I get when I sign back into the account for the versa. Are there different layouts depending which tracker you have?

Different trackers all have the same app. However, there is a new version of the app getting gradually rolled out right now. It sound like you both versions for now, probably the new version on the one you just downloaded.
Here is a write-up on the new app. You can see if this looks like one of yours.
What’s the new Fitbit app experience?
I expect the differences in sleep tracking are in how the 2 fit on your wrist. If it slips around on your arm during the night, it will not detect sleep as well.
One thing you can check is to look at your heart rate graph overnight to see if it is being read continuously. The place I can see that best is on the fitbit.com dashboard, on the wide graph choosing heart rate and daily.
I hope you realize that if you use one at night and one during the day, you will not be able to combine. That would probbly fect the resting heart rate calculation.
