Are Versa firmware updates automatic?

Does the Versa automatically update to the latest version?  Should I receive a notification that it has updated?  If the latest version is not automatic, shouldn’t I receive a notification that an update is available?

Hi, when there is a new updata available, you will get automatically in your Fitbit app a notification of it. Looks like this: "A new update is available".
