At My Wits End...... Blank Screen

Replies are disabled for this topic. Start a new one or visit our Help Center.

I've had this Versa 14 months, exchanged it through Customer Service twice and now that the Warranty expired 14months ago now I have a blank screen for two weeks. I am a big fan is this forum (I read everything---I reset it numerous times and charged it on my computer to no avail) and my Watch is inoperable. I run it off my Samsung S9+ and I don't know what to do.

I thought this was a good product but it's been nothing but trouble. I feel I am out of options at this point. Any advice that we haven't talked about???????

Interesting that my Charge 2 lost its display last week.   I called Fitbit customer service, they tried to help.   My Fitbit Charge 2 is working, but I cannot see anything on its screen.   Have to sync it to find out what is happening.

Engineers??? are you listening.   This seems to be happening to more than one device.   Is it a bug that can be fixed?

Ugh! Same here! Blank screen. I've had this thing for 10 months! 10 MONTHS! I'm an extremely gentle user with the versa. I never get it wet. I don't do heavy exercise. WTH?! I reached out to customer service and nothing! No response. I was super polite in my email, as well. I just want one that works. That's all.

I get it. I think I saw this problem for another device besides my Charge
2 and your Versa. I did not drop it or do anything to cause the blank
screen. Yes, when I spoke to Fitbit Customer Service. They are always
nice, we tried different things, but they could not help me get it back.
My year-long warranty had expired, but I still had time left on my
extended warranty, but as we spoke it sounded even if they can help I would
have to send it away for quite a while. I did not want to be without my
Fitbit for that long. The green lights on the back still work and when I
sync it, it still shows that it works on my computer and phone, but the
device on the display is blank--just a black screen
.
I think that this is a new bug that needs to be fixed.`

In the meantime, I ended up buying a new Charge 3. The more that I am
reading, I think it is some kind of bug. I have owed various Fitbit
devices for many years since about 2014-15. The display on all of the
devices I have owned has never disappeared until last week. I think that
their software dept. needs to look into this issue.

I hope for both of our sakes that they find the bug or a way to fix this
blank screen problem.

Dear Robeana,

Did your Versa get fixed?   My screen just starting working yesterday.   You are very patient.   If you love your Fitbit and it is still not working, maybe consider getting a new one?   It is up to you.   Personally, I could not stand to be without my Fitbit for 10 months.

Good luck and let me know if your display is working now.

Dear GJones11,

I also had trouble with my black screen with my Charge 2.   I also have a Samsung S9+.   I thought that it might be a bug.   I think it was, I tried it over the weekend and the screen now works!   Let me know if it now works for you?

Your screen maybe working now just like mine did but it has since stopped
working again. I've just endured 5days with a blank screen on my arm that
still vibrates to my notifications. I can afford another but after 2
replacements I'm still at my wits end! I thoroughly enjoyed this watch but I  had no idea I'd be walking around with a Watch that I can't tell time on.

Hi At My Wits End.

Sorry to hear that, but I get it. Good luck. I hope that the engineers
are paying attention.

Mine just went blank last night. I thought it was dead so I put it in the charger. It didn’t pop up with the Fitbit logo as usual. I had been swimming last night as I have many times. This morning when I went to take it off the charger still a blank face but I noticed it was still tracking my steps and I was able to at least control it from my iPhone. I love my Versa but I’ve had it less than a year! I killed my Alta HR last year when I put my hand in the river to retrieve something! I’d really like to get this fixed ASAP as I am starting a 30 steps challenge on August 1st!!!! Yes I turned it off and back on but it didn’t work! HELP!!!!!!!!!!!

I contacted customer support. Tried a factory reset which didn’t work. They were very helpful and didn’t waste any time. I’ve got a new one on the way!!!! I won’t have it in time for the start of my steps challenge but the one I have is recording my steps so all should be good!!!
