Battery draining too fast Versa Lite

Replies are disabled for this topic. Start a new one or visit our Help Center.

I purchased my Versa Lite o. Monday 5/6/2019 I have already had to charge it twice. I thought the battery was supposed to last 4+ days? I am wondering if I have a defective product!

This is my first Fitbit and I was super excited to get it.

Anyone have a solution?

Thanks in advance

Hi @AlisaC45 if you got it on the 5th, today is the 11th so you have charged it twice in 6 days - is that correct? At what percentage was the battery when you charged? It is advertised as 4+ days, but that depends on what you have turned on and how often the screen turns on. Big battery users are notifications (especially if you get a lot) and all day sync, plus looking at it a lot (which you tend to do with a new device). I have a Versa (not lite) and I generally charge after 3 days (i have notifications on but not all day sync), so on those figures Yours doesnt sound as if it is doing badly. Come back with more information for a clearer picture about what is going on.

Oh additionally when I first got my Inspire the battery didnt last the advertised 5+ days or anything near (it died after 2 and a bit days) but over the next week or 10 days or so of regular charging before it ran right down, the performance improved to over 3 days, so you battery may improve over the next week or so too

NellyG thank you for your response. I purchased the Fitbit on the 6th, charged it that day(forgot about this charge) then charged it on the 9th to full and the 10th
 (last night) to full.
I looked at the device and turned off notifications and changed the screens brightness maybe this was the issue. I will see how it does today for a full day of charged with those turned off.

Thanks again!

@AlisaC45   One piece of information that will help decide if you have a serious battery is issue is, how much did the battery percent drop between charges?  If you don't remember exactly from first use, then start to keep some personal notes to follow and report back.

@NellyG   has some excellent advice for optimizing battery life.  Here is a link to Fitbit's Help Article with more tips.

Thanks for coming back with more information @AlisaC45  Have a look at the article @LZeeW linked, but if nothing improves it, come back here again, as it could be faulty.

From Thursday evening (full charge) to Fri evening it went down 90%. I noticed it only takes a short time to charge the battery, I am assuming this is normal (10min) ?

NellyG pointed out some good tips, I have turned notifications off and reduced the screens brightness, also, I just un-synced with my phone, I want to see how the battery does today.

Thank you so much for your help

@AlisaC45   Just a clarification.  Are you saying that in 24 hours your charge dropped by 90% to 10% remaining?  If that is what you are saying, then that sounds like a bad battery.

On a typical day my Versa will drop by 12% to 88% battery.  I need to look at my watch frequently (to data and time documents), don't get a lot of notifications, have my screen brightness on automatic, and my screen display at 10 seconds.  I don't have all-day sync on.  I don't play music from my Versa.  Using the exercise app does use a bit more.

@AlisaC45  Something sounds wrong. With only 10% charge left (which I think is what you are saying) it should take a couple of hours to charge. And dropping 90% in one day is way too much. I will flag a moderator to assist you further, though if you bought it from a store other than the Fitbit online store then you will need to return it to where you bought it.

Yes this is correct, I charged it Thursday night around 9, it took maybe 15 mins to charge. Last night the battery was at 10% so I put it on the charger and the same approx 15 mins full charge. This morning I turned all notifications off and also adjusted the screen brightness to normal, I did wear it to bed, the battery is now at 76%.
