I got a Versa3 couple months after it came out. So almost 3 years old. I have a few apps installed and notifications on like text and email. Battery never last more than 3 days.
I charge to 100 percent and when I hit about 30 percent I recharge. I very rarely goto zero. Two days ago I went to bed like midnight and about 9 or 10 hours later it refused to turn on. I was not sure why and then it said zero.
I thought it was odd. It never went that fast. I recharged to 100 percent and few hours later it was more than half gone.
I turned off email and text notifications. It helped a tad but still today I am down to 33 percent.
This morning 10 or 11am I recharged. So not even 1 day. Never lasted 6 days as they say. But at least 2 or 3. Never in 1 day before.
So the questions.
1. Factory reset likely will not help will it?
2. How many cycles does the versa 3 battery have? 500 or 1000?
3. Can the battery be replaced? I don't think so or they don't either. But I saw a video on YouTube a guy took it apart and installed a new battery him self. That probably voids warrantee. But after 3 years warrantee is probably gone. So time for a new one.
4. But versa 4 is already 1 year old so maybe wait for versa5 or charge 6?
5. Or go with another brand? Or some people are getting 20 or 30 percent coupons towards to another fitbit via Twitter or something. But after 3 years maybe not.

Hi @KJSS3 - based on your symptoms it's not the battery but some damage to the watch, often it can be a faulty seal and some moisture has got in.
They are not repaired and replacing the wouldn't help in such cases anyway.
Later watches don't have all the features you have now but as you are interested in battery life consider a Garmin, 10 days or more is possible on some models which also have a load more features.

I never swam or shower with it. So no moisture. Can I at least get a coupon towards a new fitbit.
And the slimmer charge 5 or inspire 3 or luxe have longer battery life than the bigger versa and sense line? Or it is the same?

@KJSS3 - can you check in the forums about the comments of the watches.
If you chose a Versa 3 and were happy with it anything else might be a downgrade.
Discounts are only available on the more expensive watches which don't have the features you have now, so you may end up paying more for less. Another Versa 3 is an option in the shops but as you are paying for a new watch choose wisely based on what you need from a watch as there is a lot of choice available.

Maybe you guys should design a watch with a user replaceable battery. That would sell quite well.

@KJSS3 - as mentioned, short battery life is very rarely due to the battery itself so having a replaceable battery would be of no benefit other than to increase the cost of the watch and make it less waterproof.
Generally when a watch has a major fault it draws more current from the battery than it was designed for and runs it down quicker. Replacing the battery won't cure the underlying fault.
