Brightness, screen not responsive

For the past couple of days my Versa 2 is acting weird. Yesterday the timer wouldn’t work; the screen froze. I reset it but when it came back on the screen was very dim, I went to settings and it said normal was selected, but I tried every setting and it didn’t change. I did another reset and still dim. Today, the screen doesn’t want to respond to left swipes; instead it selects an app. SO FRUSTRATING!! I did notice at some point the brightness changed to Max, still said it was set to normal though. I did a rest once again (3rd time) and the brightness is back to very dim and swiping is still not working correctly. What is going on??

Hi @Sw33tPea - if the watch is in sleep mode the display will be dim and you can't change it.

Restarting may not change sleep mode so will have no effect.

The other problems may be a sign of a watch fault starting if a button restart doesn't resolve it.

Try syncing the watch and then do a full shutdown from the watch Settings About menu wait 10 seconds before restarting the watch with the button or placing on charge, it may help as a first step.

I think it was just the beginning of the end. Today the screen popped off out of nowhere and it’s not working anymore. Apparently this is a common issue with the Versa 2 and the only resolution by FitBit is to buy a new one. Sadly mine was no longer in warranty. I’m definitely considering saying goodbye to FitBit altogether. So tired of spending $200-$300 FitBit only for it to last such a short time.

We bought two versa 3 as Christmas gift for each other. About the same period of time they went broke. Not charging anymore, always a problem with the sync. Not turning on. I still want something to track progress but... fitbit no more.

Hi @Marcool - can you please make a separate more detailed post as this topic concerns a Versa 2 - and in the meantime check this link How to check charge cable - Sense/Versa 3 won't charge, won't start or blank screen it may have a bearing on your problems as it is quite a common problem.

If you bought for Christmas 2022, the watches / cable can be replaced under warranty, if necessary
