Not actually a "bug" per se. Being on the wrist, it can only detect "steps" from arm movement that looks like regular arm swing while walking. Some motions sometimes can't be distinguished from walking. You might get the same thing playing drums, strumming guitar, knitting, etc. Steps are never going to be exact. Unless you are doing a great deal of clapping, I expect those added steps are not significant compared to whole day's total. If they are, the only solution is to take tracker off when you plan to do a lot of clapping.
